Conference Proceedings of the European Conference on Surface Science 2017 (ECOSS-33) will be published by SPRINGER International Publishing AG as a special issue of the journal Topics of Catalysis (Impact factor of 2.355 -2015). The contents of this special issue will consist of invited papers plus a selection of contributed surface science papers related to catalysis for a total of max 20. The reviewing procedure, format, letter‑type and lay‑out of the manuscripts will be the same as for the regular issues of the Journal. Submission of a paper implies that it represents original work not previously published and not being considered for publication elsewhere. All previously published material should be fully acknowledged in the manuscript. There will be no page charges. Microscopy has become an essential part of research with a rapid progress in the instrumentation and the techniques in electron microscopy, light microscopy and scanning probe microscopy, as well. These developments have stimulated the creation of a new open-access journal „Resolution and Discovery” (http://akademiai.com/loi/2051), the first issue is freely accessible at http://akademiai.com/toc/2051/1/1. Conference Proceedings of the European Conference on Surface Science 2017 (ECOSS-33) will be published by the AKADÉMIAI KIADÓ Zrt ( a Wolters Kluwer company) as a special issue of Resolution & Discovery. The contents of this special issue will consist of invited papers plus a selection of contributed papers with a relevance of different microscopy techniques for a total of 20. The reviewing procedure, format, letter‑type and lay‑out of the manuscripts will be the same as for the regular issues of the Journal.
